Dianna Lynne Collins, 84, of Ottumwa, died at 1:25 a.m. May 28, 2025 at Ottumwa Regional Health Center.
She was born February 19, 1941 in Ottumwa to John William and Ellen Louise Rogers Richards. She married John Richard Moore and they later divorced. She married Richard “Dick” Collins December 4, 1992 and he preceded her in death May 22, 2002.
A 1959 graduate of Ottumwa High School, Dianna attended Parsons College. She was an artist and an author, hand painting color pictures and writing romance novels. Dianna lived in Colorado for several years before returning to Ottumwa, working as a ward clerk at Ottumwa Regional Health Center for over 10 years.
Dianna enjoyed researching family genealogy. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Surviving are her children, Greg Dean, Brenda and Beth Ann; 3 grandchildren; several step-children; several step-great-grandchildren; and her brother, John “J.R.” (Janet) Richards of Ottumwa.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Her body has been cremated. A memorial service may be planned for later this summer.
