Bradley “Brad” Allen Hartman, age 54, of Sigourney, Iowa passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, in Chicago, IL. As were his wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service to celebrate his life will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 30, 2025, at the Cranston Family Funeral Home in Fairfield, IA with Dwayne Regur officiating. A visitation will begin at noon on Friday, May 30, 2025, at the funeral home and last until the time of service. Friends may leave online condolences at www.cranstonfamilyfuneralhome.com.
Brad Hartman was born to parents Doug and Carolyn (Blakely) Hartman on December 27th, 1970, in Pensacola, Florida. Brad would graduate from Fairfield Highschool and later attend Indian Hills Community College where he would graduate as a diesel mechanic with high academic honors.
He would begin working as a diesel mechanic before his lifelong career of driving semi-trucks for a variety of companies including Panama Trucking and Food Liner. Brad married the love of his life Donna on August 22nd, 2015. Starting his career as an Owner-Operator for Quest Liner as Willow Transport was a proud moment for the couple. One of Brad’s favorite loads was HazMat for Titos Vodka which he affectionately referred to as “moon shine”.
When Brad wasn’t on the road, he spent his free time becoming the best possible husband he could be. Providing for his wife was the center of his life. The couple would take their camper to go “glamping” in the Ozarks when Brad’s schedule would allow. He was also a member of VFW Post 2237 and American Legion Post 34 both of Oskaloosa.
Brad is especially known for his loving nature and his sense of humor. One of his favorite one-liners was a “A bag of $20s” when asked if he needed anything. People who felt one of his hugs often said it was like being hugged by a grizzly bear. He will be deeply missed by his family and the many friends he made along the way.
Brad is proceeded in death by daughter Niki Hartman, grandparents, Don and Erma Hartman, Gallant Lee, and Lucille Blakely.
Left to remember Brad is his wife Donna Hartman of Sigourney, IA; son, Curtis Workman; grandson, Dayson Workman; mother, Carolyn Hartman of Fairfield, IA; father, Doug (Sharon) Hartman of Cedar Rapids, IA; two sisters, Katrina (Scott) Van Meter of Cedar Rapids, IA and Beth Lorehzen of LeClaire, IA; a brother Jeff Hartman of Fairfield, IA, as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, and his much-loved fur babies Willow, Roo, and Mickey.
