A second suspect has been arrested in connection with a Feb. 27 shooting in Ames that left a 19-year-old man hospitalized.
According to the Ames Police Department, the victim was dropped off at Mary Greeley Medical Center around 1:15 a.m. on Feb. 27 with a gunshot wound. He told investigators he had been in the 2500 block of Jensen Avenue when he was robbed and shot by two men.
Police arrested the first suspect, 22-year-old Maliek Dut of Ames, on March 11. Dut was charged with first-degree robbery and attempted murder, and has since entered a plea of not guilty.
Now, nearly two months later, authorities have arrested a second suspect in the case. Juan Davila Moore, 23, also of Ames, has been charged with first-degree robbery and attempted murder.
At the time of his arrest, Moore was already in custody at the Boone County Jail on unrelated charges stemming from a separate incident on Jan. 20. In that case, Moore faces kidnapping and robbery charges and was arrested in early March. He was transferred to Story County Jail on Wednesday to face charges related to the Ames shooting.
