An employee at the Davenport YMCA has been terminated following the circulation of a video showing the worker physically handling a child in a rough manner.
The incident occurred on Wednesday at the Davenport Early Learning Center. After learning about the video, the YMCA of the Iowa Mississippi Valley acted swiftly, reporting the matter to the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services within an hour. The department has since taken over the investigation.
As of Wednesday evening at 8:30 p.m., no charges have been filed in connection with the incident. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are working to determine the full extent of the situation.
