An Ottumwa man was arrested after allegedly discharging a firearm in the air during an argument earlier this month.
22-year-old Marcus Campbell was charged with reckless use of a firearm, a simple misdemeanor.
In the early morning hours of March 16, court records say Campbell was involved in a verbal altercation on the 300 block of Ottumwa Street in Ottumwa. Police say Campbell retrieved a gun and fired it approximately eight times in the air in the residential neighborhood.
A warrant for Campbell’s arrest was issued on March 20 and he was taken into custody the following day.
Campbell is currently free after posting a $3,000 bond. His first court appearance is scheduled for March 26.
