An Ottumwa man is behind bars after police say he attacked a man last December, leaving him with multiple broken bones.
29-year-old William Davis was charged with willful injury – resulting in bodily injury, a Class C felony, and assault causing bodily injury or mental illness, a serious misdemeanor.
Court records say that sometime between December 19 and December 21, Davis hit and kicked a man until he was incapacitated. The victim suffered broken bones to his face and torso. Police say the victim was in extreme pain and required extensive medical treatment to recover. The alleged incident occurred at North Court Street in Ottumwa, according to authorities.
Davis was arrested on March 20. He is lodged in the Wapello County Jail on an $11,000 bond.
