Thanks to contributions from blood donors, ImpactLife will present a check for $2494 to leaders of Food Bank of Iowa’s Ottumwa distribution center on Thursday, March 27. Under the blood center’s Good Giving program, donors have the opportunity to redeem a voucher for their choice of an electronic gift card, bonus points to use in the ImpactLife Donor Rewards Store, or to make an equivalent value contribution to an important cause.

On Thursday, March 27, representatives from ImpactLife will visit the Food Bank of Iowa Ottumwa distribution center to present a $2494 donation and to learn how the Food Bank supports the charitable food system in Peoria and the surrounding region. The check presentation is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 27 at Food Bank of Iowa (705 W. Main St.).

The funds come from the Good Giving promotion held from October 2024 through January 2025, when ImpactLife blood donors were given a voucher to redeem for their choice of an electronic gift card or to donate the same amount to support local food banks in the blood center’s service region. Blood donors directed $22,060 in support to food banks and this total is now being distributed to food banks that serve communities of the ImpactLife service region.

Good Giving: Expanded Choices for Nonprofit Contributions

Following recent changes to ImpactLife donor promotions, blood donors can now designate any 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization to receive their Good Giving contribution, allowing for a more personalized impact. After each donation, donors receive an email with the subject line “Your Recent Donation” within 48 hours containing a link to order a thank you gift. Donors who select charitable donations are provided with information on how to select their charity.

The Good Giving program is part of ImpactLife’s Donor For Life donor frequency initiative. Please note that all 501(c)(3) are available to choose and the amount of the contribution is based on the type of blood donation (whole blood, double red cells, or platelets / plamsa) and donor frequency.
