Patsy Ann McCloud entered this life on December 4, 1953, in New York, the daughter of Henry
and Arminda Johnson Wallace. Her early years were spent in Goshen, NY where she graduated
early at the age of 16. The next chapter in her life saw her traveling to many different places in
the US. She became the proud mother of two children: Thomas and Amber. Patsy cared deeply
for her family and eventually moved to Iowa where they settled in Ottumwa. Patsy channeled
her love of caring for others into working at the Parkview Care Center in Fairfield. She
furthered her education while there getting her Certified Medical Aid certification. The last part
of her career was spent working at the Van Buren County Home. She was a hard worker from
an early age and cared deeply for the residents at her facility.
When Patsy had some free time, she enjoyed playing cards, dice, or a quick trip to the casino.
She was a die-hard Star Wars fan and cherished the simple things in life like watching her
squirrels out her window. Above all was her love for her family, especially her grandchildren
and great grandchildren.
Patsy was preceded in death by her parents and six siblings, Tom, Dorothy, Ernie, Butch, Olive,
Doris, and her adopted parents, Fred and Dixie Schmitter.
Left to share her story are her children, Thomas (Erika) McCloud of Knoxville, IA and Amber
McCloud (Keith Brewington) of Fairfield, IA; seven grandchildren, Richard, Felicity, Brody,
Soldier, Nina, Reid, and Sheamis; three great grandchildren, Finn, Lanie, and Jullian; four
siblings, Roy Wallace, Mary Jane Brigham, Edith Scheller, and Arthur Wallace; their adopted
Schmitter family, as well as many extended family and friends.
