Cindy Lou Robertson, 67, of Ottumwa, Iowa, passed away peacefully on February 20, 2025. Born on November 29, 1957, in Des Moines, IA, Cindy spent the majority of her life in Ottumwa, where she created a life filled with love, dedication, and compassion. She was a loyal wife, a loving mother, and a devoted grandmother, always putting her family at the forefront of her priorities. Her dedicated spirit shone through in all her endeavors, including her career and hobbies.
Cindy was a vibrant, hardworking woman who spent 50 years working as a cook, several of them at Nester’s Cafe and was the proud owner and operator of Cindy’s Cafe in Eldon, Double Deuce, and Harley’s Bar and Cafe in Ottumwa. Her culinary skills were second to none, and she earned a reputation for her excellent cooking. When she wasn’t working, she loved playing Bingo, cards, watching the game show network, and most importantly, spending time with her family. She was also fond of taking trips to Colorado to visit her sister and relished the time spent hanging out at the campgrounds with family and friends.
Cindy is survived by her loving husband, Norman Sr, whom she married on February 2, 1974, and their children, Rebecca (Jason) Zimmer, Jennifer (Kerry) Derby, Joshua (Chrissy) Robertson, and Norman (Kelsey) Jr. She also leaves behind her siblings, Danny Jack, Dale (Debbie) Jack, Virginia (Gene) Crisp, Kathleen Kendrick, Karen Moore, and James Nichols. Cindy was a cherished grandmother to Jordan, Jaylan, Jade, Austin, Dakota, Brook, Malainie, Ashton, Kiana, Joshua, Tanner, Noah, Breyanna, Kynlee and Kya. As well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Larry Jack and Kathleen Bray, her nephew Larry Dale Jack Jr, and grandparents Virginia and Raymond Menuis.
A visitation will be held on Monday, February 24, 2025 from 5-7 p.m., with a time of sharing. Cindy will be cremated following visitation hours. Memorials may be directed to the family.
