Carolyn A. Potter, 83 of Oskaloosa, died at 8:26 p.m. August 5, 2026 at Mahaska Health Partnership in Oskaloosa.
She was born February 28, 1943 in Ottumwa to Lawrence Lee and Annabelle Andrews Parrott. Carolyn married Terry Uriah Potter and he preceded her in death.
Carolyn was a part of TOPS and enjoyed doing crafts and playing BINGO. She also enjoyed traveling and seeing the country. Carolyn was a people person and never met a stranger. She was known as the neighborhood mom. Carolyn loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are her children, Mary (Gerald) Porter of Oskaloosa and Tammi (Gabe) Werbil of Apache Junction, AZ; 5 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and a great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Jeffrey A. Potter and Charles W. Potter; a brother, Harold Parrott; and a sister, Hazel Dudley.
Her body has been cremated. Visitation with her family present to greet friends will be from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday August 9th at Reece Funeral Home. Inurnment will be in West Lawn Cemetery in Glidden, IA at a later date.
Memorials may be made to March of Dimes or Wounded Warrior Project.
