The Sigourney City Council held its second meeting of the year Wednesday night.
After the consent agenda was approved, the city council discussed changing the internet provider at the water plant and sewer lagoon. An employee says workers have a hard time with the current internet service provider and have lost internet service on multiple occasions and most recently four days last week. The employee proposed switching the internet service provider to T-Mobile at the water plant and sewer lagoon. Switching to T-Mobile would cost the city $52 a month at both locations but several citizens have vouched for its reliability, according to the employee. The council approved changing the internet service provider to T-Mobile.
The council approved a two-year contract with Tru Green. The company will spray the city’s parks and other city property.
Several dates for committee meetings were scheduled. The Parks and Recreation Committee meeting was set for January 22 at 5:00 PM.
The Street and Sanitation Committee meeting was scheduled for Monday, January 20 at 4:00 PM.
The Wastewater Committee meeting will be on Monday, January 27 at 4:00 PM.
The Finance Committee meeting was scheduled for Thursday, January 23 at 6:00 PM.
And finally, the Human Resources Committee will meet on Monday, January 20 at 9:00 AM.
The next city council meeting will be held on February 5.
