A southeast Iowa man is accused of sending illicit images to a minor and attempting to meet up with the child.
57-year-old Sharm Golden of Fremont was charged with enticing a minor under 16 – sexual purpose, a Class D felony, and dissemination and exhibition of obscene material to minors, a serious misdemeanor.
On January 24, court records say Golden sent an explicit image of himself to a person he believed to be a 13-year-old child. Golden also communicated with the minor with the intention of meeting for a sexual encounter.
Golden was arrested on January 25 and transported to the Wapello County Jail. His arrest was chronicled on the Bikers Against Predators Facebook page. Golden was later freed after posting a $6,000 bond.
Golden has a preliminary hearing scheduled for February 17.
