Inez J. Bown Wallace, of Ottumwa, 94, passed away December 25, 2024 at Crystal Heights Nursing and Rehab in Oskaloosa, IA.
Inez was born March 8, 1930 to Ellis and Grace Mitchell Bown in rural Warren County, IA. Inez married Marvin C. Wallace on March 20, 1948, in San Diego, CA. They later divorced.
Inez was a resident of Ottumwa for 64 years prior to moving to Crystal Heights in Oskaloosa in October of 2023.
In 1966, Inez obtained her LPN license and worked her entire 33 -year nursing career for the Schutjer family of Oskaloosa, IA.
She is survived by her children, Mike Wallace of Ottumwa, IA, Debbie (Joe) Nicholson of Oskaloosa, IA and Jeanne (Wayne) Mehaffy of Gowrie, IA. Grandchildren, Jennifer (Mario) Tudor of Columbia, SC, Pamela Cobler, Ottumwa, IA, Paul (Jodi) Curl of Davenport, IA, Elizabeth Toubekis of North English, IA, Michele Nicholson of Oskaloosa, IA, Matthew (Jessica) Nicholson of Marion, IA, Erin (Shane) Bintz of Gowrie, IA, Katie Mehaffy of Chicago, IL and Ryan Mehaffy of Silvis, IL. 15 great- grandchildren and 12 great- great -grandchildren with one on the way.
Inez was preceded in death by her parents; a young son, Charles; a great- great- grandson Jaxxon and 10 siblings.
Graveside services and burial will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday, December 28th, at Shaul Cemetery with Pastor Mel Kendall officiating.
