The Centerville City Council held its final meeting of the year Monday night.

After the consent agenda was approved, there was a public hearing on the Conveyance of Alleyway in Adamson’s Addition but no public comments were made. Later approval was made on Res. 2024-4112 Conveyance of an Alleyway in Adamson’s Addition.

The bills were approved as well as the financial report for November.

City Administrator Jason Fraser says the city is in the middle of union negotiations with public works. A draft of an agreement will be written in January. Fraser also says he will be out of town without email access from December 20-29.

Public Works Director Steve Hawkins says the city’s winter equipment is ready and crews have had to go out a couple of times. The city tried a street sweeper that was borrowed from another community but according the Hawkins, the trial did not go well. Hawkins says the city will continue to try to find a sweeper compatible to the city’s needs.

The next city council meeting will be held on January 6.
