George Thomas Kostas, 72, of Ottumwa, died at 2:37 p.m. November 6, 2024 at Hospice House in Ottumwa.
He was born January 26, 1952 in Ottumwa to George and Ida Kenyon Kostas.
A 1970 graduate of Ottumwa High School, Tom earned a degree in air traffic control from Ottumwa Heights College. He worked 45 years for Easters Super Valu as a manager, retiring with their closing. In his retirement, Tom worked for Kum & Go.
Tom enjoyed the daily coffee group at Hy-Vee Gas.
Surviving is his sister, Connie Ferguson of Ottumwa; nieces and nephews, Abby (Sean) Ryan of Overland Park, KS and Matt (Taren) Ferguson of Ottumwa; great-nieces and great-nephews, Delaney, Gehrig and Kendall Ryan and Lexi, Maya, Jayme and Maddie Ferguson.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Jeff Ferguson.
His body has been cremated and no services are planned. Inurnment will be in Ottumwa Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Hospice Serving Davis and Wapello Counties.
