Carol Fredona Keep, 99, of Ottumwa, died at 11:48 p.m. November 7, 2024 at Sylvan Woods.
She was born December 29, 1924 in Herrick, SD to Clement and Sadie Wagner Darnielle. She married Richard Keep May 18, 1943 in Lancaster, MO.
A 1942 graduate of Delta High School, Carol worked at John Morrell Co, Laboratory Control at Ottumwa Hospital and Davis Uniform Shop.
Carol was a member of Agency Community Church, United Methodist Women and Sweet Adelines and enjoyed singing in the choir at church and was the best cook ever. She loved reading, flowers, gardening, canning and travelling with friends. She especially loved her family.
Surviving is her husband of 81 years, Dick; their children, Karen (George) O’Bryant of Blakesburg and Kelly (Steve) Wilson of Bloomfield; 4 grandchildren, Justin (Miluska) O’Bryant of Hillsboro, OR, Leslie (Kelly) Ray of Blakesburg, Ali Wilson of Ottumwa and Nikki Wilson of Bloomfield; 3 great-grandchildren, Tanner Ray, Ella Ray and Valerie O’Bryant.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Evelyn Martinson and Lois Auld; and brother, Frank Darnielle.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, November 14th at Agency Community Church with Pastor Kelly W. Peavey officiating. Burial will be in Round Point Cemetery in Agency.
Visitation will be open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, November 13th at Reece Funeral Home. The family will be present to greet friends at the church one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
