An Ottumwa man was arrested after a narcotics search.
34-year-old Trenton Furnald was charged with possession of a firearm or offensive weapon by a DA offender, conspire with intent to deliver marijuana under 50 kg, conspire with intent to to manufacture/deliver methamphetamine over 5g under 5kg, possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to affix drug tax stamp, and two counts of keeping prohibited – possession of a Pitbull.
On October 24, court records say a narcotics search warrant was executed at a residence on Meadowdale Street. Authorities located Furnald in the possession of packaging material, digital scales with drug residue, and bulk United States currency. Officers also recovered 50 grams of ice methamphetamine, and 40 grams of flower marijuana. Investigators seized pipes, bongs, grinders, and syringes.
Court records say officers located a 9mm handgun. Furnald has a domestic related no contact order and is prohibited from possessing firearms.
According to court records, Furnalds residence is located within 1,000 feet of a facility in the Ottumwa Community School District.
According to law enforcement, Furnald was in possession of two Pitbulls, which are considered a dangerous animal by the city code.
Furnald was transported to the Wapello County Jail. He has a $35,000 bond and waived his preliminary hearing.
