Patricia Lee Peckham, 74, of Ottumwa, died at 11:30 p.m. September 26, 2024 at MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center.
She was born September 3, 1950 in Pontiac, IL to Rev. Melvin Ray and Fern Helen Lewis Mattox. She married Dennis Peckham June 16, 1979.
Growing up in Pontiac, Omaha, NE and Chatsworth, IL, before moving to Winterset, IA from where she graduated from High School, she had also lived in Pella and Unionville, IA. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Faith Baptist Bible College. She and her husband lived in Centerville and Albia for a short time before moving to Ottumwa in 1990. Pat operated her own in-home childcare for close to 20 years.
She was a member of North Court Baptist Church. Pat was a wonderful wife, mother and especially grandmother. Most important in her life were her faith and her family.
Surviving is her husband, Dennis; their children, Staci (David) Griepentrog of Ottumwa and Shana (Nathan) Gast of Des Moines; 6 grandchildren, Katie, Ethan, Abby, Bethany, Lily and Noah; sister, Connie (Stan) Manus of Des Moines; 2 brothers, Randy (Sharon) Mattox of Lovilia and Steve (Jeri) Mattox of Mexico.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be open at 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 1st at Reece Funeral Home with the family present to greet friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 2nd at North Court Baptist Church with Pastor Nathan Gast officiating. Burial will be in Ottumwa Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Ottumwa Christian School.
