An Ottumwa man faces charges after allegedly stalking an individual and flashing his gun on Thursday.
54-year-old Guillermo Lopez was charged with 1st degree harassment, an aggravated misdemeanor, stalking – possession of a dangerous weapon, a class C felony, and interference with official acts, a simple misdemeanor.
On September 19, court records say Lopez has went to the victim’s work place several times to argue with her.
Authorities say Lopez went to the victim’s doctor’s appointment at River Hills Health Center on South Market Street. Lopez lifted his shirt to display a gun in his waistband and threatened the victim and others in the business.
Court records say officers arrived at the scene and Lopez attempted to flee while ignoring commands to stop.
Lopez was transported to the Wapello County Jail. He is being held without bond pending a hearing with a magistrate judge.
