The Legacy Foundation announced awards totaling $150,000 to the 2024 Summer Cycle Bright Ideas Community Enrichment Fund grant recipients.
Recent grant money awarded will help nonprofits improve community development and vitality, arts and culture, health care, and education.
The following nine organizations are the latest recipients of the Bright Ideas Community Enrichment Fund grant:
- Agency Volunteer Fireman Inc. for new self-contained breathing apparatus
- American Gothic House Center for educational classroom addition
- Friends of the Blakesburg Public Library for exterior finishes on the West End Library Renovation Project
- Indian Hills Community College Development Corporation strategic planning support
- Rippling Waters Inc for improving accessibility and housing revitalization in the West End Corridor
- River Hills Community Health Center to purchase new Behavioral Health Equipment
- Seton Catholic School for updating math textbooks and library resources
- UNI Foundation to create a 360o VirtualTour of Ottumwa
- Warriors With Wings to support the production and promotion of the theatrical play, “The American Soldier”.
The Ottumwa Legacy Foundation says it is looking to support new and innovative ideas and efforts that can have measurable impacts on the residents and communities in Wapello County. Local nonprofits are highly encouraged to submit applications to Bright Ideas Community Enrichment Fund. The next online Bright Ideas application cycle opens on September 15th, 2024.
