Kelly DeAnn Shaw, 61, of Ottumwa, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at 8:37 a.m. September 4, 2024 at her home.
She was born March 22, 1963 in Ottumwa to James and Marilyn McDonald Johnson. She married her high school sweetheart, Jerry Arthur Shaw March 6, 1982.
Growing up in a small town, Kelly spent her childhood playing ball and riding horses with her two brothers; creating memories that lasted a lifetime. Kelly’s heart swelled with pride and love with them as she enjoyed going to their activities and spoiling them rotten.
Surviving is her husband of forty-two years, Jerry; their children, Derek (Kim) Shaw and Jessica Richmond; six wonderful grandchildren, Johnnie, Ava, Cloe, Gavin, Eizley and Brantley; her mother, Marilyn Johnson of Ottumwa; her father, Jim (Kathy) Johnson of West Branson, MO; two brothers, Chris Johnson and Craig Johnson, both of Ottumwa; a step-sister, Kim (Todd) Robinson; her grandmother, Donna McDonald of Des Moines; along with several aunts, uncles, and many cousins.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Robert “Bob” and Ethel “Peggy” Chadwick and Jack McDonald; and a great granddaughter, Ziylah Faye Howell.
Kelly will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
