Terry Scott Burtlow Sr. 61, of Ottumwa, died August 18, 2024 at his home.
He was born January 16, 1963 in Ottumwa to Robert Edward and Loretta Elaine Sherer Burtlow. Terry married Tina Marie Gillen on March 17, 1981 and they later divorced. He married Veronica Reyes on January 31, 2001.
Terry had served with the U.S. Army. He had worked security for different casinos and clubs in Nevada, his favorites being Ormsby House and Caesar’s Tahoe in Stateline, NV.
Terry enjoyed putting model ships together and playing super Nintendo games. He loved history and doing Civil War reenactments.
Surviving is his wife, Veronica; his children, Terry (Ginny) Burtlow Jr. and Natira (Kevin) Creamer both of Ottumwa, Edward (Samantha) Burtlow of Mt. Pleasant; 7 grandchildren, Caleb, Brandon, Scottie, Allison, Aria, Melanie and Payton; siblings, Kenneth Burtlow of Ottumwa, Sherri Gibson-Brown of Tampa, FL and Michael Farr of Lincoln, NE.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Diana Skinner.
Visitation will be open at 12 p.m. Wednesday, August 21st, at Reece Funeral Home with the family present to greet friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday.
Private funeral services will be at Reece Funeral Home with military honors conducted by O.B. Nelson Post #3 American Legion and Walter B. Schafer Post #775 Veterans of Foreign Wars. Cremation will follow the services.
Inurnment will be in Ottumwa Cemetery at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the family.
