Steven Lloyd Vincent, 68, of Oskaloosa, died at 10:26 a.m. August 20, 2024 at his home.

He was born July 11, 1956 in Ottumwa to Lloyd Earl and Irma Eileen Bitner Vincent. He married Cindy Renee Jessop April 8, 1982.

A 1975 graduate of Ottumwa High School, Steve worked at Hormel for a number of years. Returning to school, he earned a degree in machine technology from Indian Hills Community College. Steve and Cindy moved to Oskaloosa and he worked for Vermeer Corporation for 33 years.

Steve and Cindy attended First Assembly of God in Oskaloosa. Steve loved to work on cars and enjoyed camping when their kids were young. He also enjoyed amusement parks, helping neighbors and attending his grandchildren’s events. Most importantly, Steve was a good teacher and mentor to his children and grandchildren.

Surviving is his wife, Cindy; their children, Stephanie (Justin) McAdoo of Oskaloosa and Bradley (Amanda) Vincent of Pella; daughter-in-law, Amber Vincent of Albuquerque, NM; 7 grandchildren, Desseri Stockdall, Donavan Vincent, Damien Vincent, Cade Vincent, Kristina McAdoo, Eden Vincent and Merrit Vincent; siblings, Janet (John Chaplin) Vincent of Des Moines, Beverly (Michael) Leffler of Blakesburg, Tracy (George) Losee of Des Moines, Stacey (James) Tennison of Ottumwa and Randy (Tracey) Vincent of Independence, MO; along with many nieces and nephews and others whom considered him “dad” and “grandpa”.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Irma Owens; father and step-mother, Lloyd and Marsha Vincent; and a son, Daniel Vincent.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, August 24th at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Michael Dotson officiating. The family will be present to greet friends one hour prior to the service Saturday. Cremation will take place after the service.

Memorials may be made to the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital or the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
