The Ottumwa Municipal Band will conclude its 160th season of summer performances with a concert at 7 p.m. Thursday in Central Park.
The band will be performing a concert in tribute to Jack Barron, former Municipal Band director, and to Brenda Hinebaugh, a vocalist who performed with the band for many years. Both members passed away this past year.
The complete program includes: “The Star-Spangled Banner,” “Creekwood Overture,” “The National Game March,” “La Polka De Paris,” “The Doors in Concert,” “’Homestretch’ Galop,” “Sax Serenade,” featuring a sax quartet from the band, “March of the Two Left Feet,” “The Legends of Soul,” “Alamo March” and “America, the Beautiful.”
The audience is reminded to bring their lawn chairs or a blanket for viewing the concert. In case of inclement weather, the concert will be moved to Liberty School. Any change of venue will be announced on the Ottumwa Municipal Band Face book page.
