A former manager of Bomgaars in Ottumwa was arrested after admitting to making false returns.
38-year-old Roseanne Whited of Clio was charged with 2nd degree theft.
On August 14, court records say officials read Whited her rights and interviewed her concerning a theft while managing Bomgaars on 1331 Vaughn Drive. Authorities say Whited began her position as a manager around April 2024. Whited admitted to officials that she made several false returns and kept the money for herself. Court records say Whited stole an estimated $2,000 and the amount could be higher according to loss prevention.
Whited was transported to the Wapello County Jail. She posted bond and has a preliminary hearing on August 16.
