Madaline Files, 74, of Oskaloosa, passed away at the Mahaska Health Hospice Serenity House on August 22, 2024.
Madaline Duncan Files, daughter of Evan P. and Catherine E. (Chester) Duncan, was born on January 9, 1950, in Oskaloosa. Madeline was a Nurse’s Aid at Pleasant Park and later a cook at Siesta Park Nursing Home in Oskaloosa. In later years, she was a homemaker.
Madaline was a member of the Assembly Of God Church in Oskaloosa. She enjoyed oil painting and crocheting and was an avid reader.
Madaline is survived by four brothers: Chuck (Phyllis) Duncan of Bland, Missouri; John (Cheryl) Duncan; Carl Duncan; Leslie Duncan, all of Oskaloosa; several aunts and uncles; and several nieces and nephews.
Madaline was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Kenneth and Howard, and a sister, Donnalee Burtlow.
Graveside services for Madaline will be held on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at Bloomfield Cemetery in Mahaska County, with Reverend Adam Kyle of Life House Community Church officiating. Visitation will be held at Langkamp Funeral Chapel from 9:30 a.m. to 10:10 a.m., at which time a procession will be departing for Bloomfield Cemetery in Mahaska County. Memorial contributions may be made to Stephen Memorial Animal Shelter.
