Goldie Marie More Rysdam, 81, of Drakesville, Iowa passed away on August 18, 2024 at the Golden Age Care Center in Centerville, Iowa. She was born on January 19, 1943 in Drakesville to Chester Marvin and Josie Galena Stufflebeam More. She graduated from Davis County High School in 1961. On October 21, 1966 she married Donald Rysdam in Bloomfield. A resident of Davis County her lifetime, she worked at the Davis County Courthouse, retiring as County Auditor at the end of 2008.
Goldie enjoyed gardening and cooking. She was an excellent cake decorator and made cakes for special occasions for many people in the county. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She was a longtime member of the Davis County Democratic Central Committee. She will be greatly missed by her family.
She is survived by her husband, Donald Rysdam of Drakesville; two daughters, Stacie Rysdam, Kristie Rysdam both of Cedar Falls, Iowa; brother, Ray (Phyllis) More of Drakesville; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 22, 2024 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Pastor Gordon Hawkins officiating. Burial will be at the Drakesville Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday with the family present to greet friends from 5-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials have been established to the Golden Age Care Center Activity Fund and the American Heart Association.
