An Ottumwa man died after getting struck by a train, according to Wapello officials.
On July 6 at 3:00 a.m, the Wapello County Sheriff’s Office responded to an incident on the BNSF railway. According to police, the train was traveling west of Agency and hit an individual that was on the railway.
According to authorities, 47-year-old Ryan Croft died from the accident.
The Wapello County Sheriff’s Office had assistance from the Ottumwa Police Department, Wapello County Rural Fire Department, and
Reece Funeral Home.
