OPD: Intoxicated Man Attempted to Enter Residence, Resisted Arrest


An intoxicated Ottumwa man faces charges after allegedly attempting to enter into a house and resisting arrest.

45-year-old Bradley Edgington was charged with Public Intoxication and Interference with Official Acts.

On July 4, court records say Edgington was attempting to enter into a residence on Milner Street. According to authorities, Edgington had an odor of alcohol and admitted to walking into the residence from a gas station. He also admitted to consuming alcohol. Officials say Edgington provided a breath sample and registered a BrAC of 0.145%.

According to police, Edgington resisted arrest by pulling away from the officer and ignoring multiple commands.

Edgington was taken to the Wapello County Jail. He has an initial appearance on July 5.
