Mary Ann Johnson, 102, of Ottumwa, died at 5:20 p.m. July 11, 2024 at Hospice House in Ottumwa.
She was born September 2, 1921 in Ottumwa to Albert and Edna Mottet Stoessel. She married Donald L. Johnson September 6, 1942 and he preceded her in death April 15, 2012.
A 1939 graduate of Ottumwa High School, Mary Ann attended the Iowa Success School and was a homemaker.
She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and Altar and Rosary Society. Mary Ann enjoyed attending John Deere Retiree meetings and Golden Opportunity Club events.
Surviving are her three sons, Mick (Susan) Johnson of Deep Haven, MN, Rick Johnson of West Des Moines and Tom Johnson of Ottumwa; 6 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by twin great-grandchildren; three brothers, Don Stoessel, Bill Stoessel and Frances Stoessel; sister, Gretchen Peck; and daughter-in-law, Marilyn Kline-Johnson.
Her body has been cremated.
Visitation with the family present to greet friends will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, July 15th at Reece Funeral Home.
Memorial Mass will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 16th at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Father Joseph Sia presiding. Inurnment will be in Shaul Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Patrick Catholic Church. Hospice Serving Davis and Wapello Counties or Good Samaritan Society – Ottumwa.
