Desi Payne talks about her new book about managing stress and her Coffee Shop Book Signing Tour.

Desi Payne, Motivational Humorist and Keynote Speaker, talks about her new book Manage Stress Without Losing Your Mind: 52 Tips to Reduce & Eliminate Stress from Your Life.

Payne says this “tiny but mighty” book is for anytime you may be stressed and need a little encouragement.

“I just pulled out some of the best tips when I talk about managing stress and I put it in the book. It’s just so that you have a quick read, or you need a reminder, if you need to pick it up again, if you’re having a bad day, and its just going to give you some resources, it’s going to give you some ideas on how to manage that stress.” Desi Payne, Motivational Humorist and Keynote Speaker

Payne says the research for this book has lasted years and was inspired by the time when she found out the leading cause of her sickness was stress.

“It all stemmed from about 15 years ago when I just could not get up in the mornings. I was fatigued. I was sick all the time. I had sinus infections that would just not go away. I had bounced from doctor to doctor and finally went to one doctor and she said ‘I want to do some extra tests on you’.” Desi Payne, Motivational Humorist and Keynote Speaker

Payne says her doctor had her adrenal glands tested.

“They were depleted. Adrenal glands are so important on managing stress because that’s where your stress hormone cortisol pumps out but when you’ve over done it then other organs in your body try to compensate and that opens the door for all kinds of illness.” Desi Payne, Motivational Humorist and Keynote Speaker

Payne realized that her lifestyle had to change. She gives credit to a book she read by John Maxwell, 15 Invaluable Laws of Growth, and how to apply the law of reflection to your lifestyle.

“I had to pause and think about every part of my life spiritually, socially, mentally, physically, financially, and my job. I had to think what do I need to start doing and so I had to be intentional about managing my stress.” Desi Payne, Motivational Humorist and Keynote Speaker

Payne wants this book to be a reminder to take care of yourself. The topics of the book include how to make lifestyle changes, laugh, and be mindful.

“In the book there’s all kinds of QR codes and you can go and take your own stress test, it’s real important to always be aware of what your stress is. there’s a chart at the end of it and if you fall into this high number it says that you have an 80% chance of having a health break down if you do not manage your stress.” Desi Payne, Motivational Humorist and Keynote Speaker
