Hospital CEO Serves on Discussion Panel at National Healthcare Conference

Meagan Weber, DPT, MBA, CEO, Scotland County Hospital and Rural Health Clinics, recently served on a discussion panel at the 2024 CVS Accountable Care Symposium in Nashville.

Dr. Weber presented on a panel with John Henderson, the president/CEO of TORCH (Texas Organization of Rural and Community Hospitals). He works for the 157 rural Texas Hospitals – primarily in the areas of advocacy and education. Also on the panel was Kate Inman, Network Practice Administrator at Dosher Memorial Hospital, North Carolina. Kate oversees operation and supervision of nine total (3 Rural Health) clinic locations including primary care, surgery, and gynecology.

Dr. Weber stated, “It was a great experience, and I’m passionate about bringing rural health successes and challenges to the national stage. More importantly, the reason I got this opportunity in the first place, is because of our dedicated ACO team’s continued success. They bring SCH to the national spotlight as they are deeply committed to quality care for our patients.”

The conference attendees and audience were primarily C-suite executives, healthcare thought leaders and visionaries, physician leaders, and other experts working to improve healthcare. The symposium discussions focused on the future of technology in healthcare, the challenges of staffing, and hearing directly from Centers for Medicaid & Medicare (CMS) about upcoming policies that will influence the healthcare system.

The CVS Accountable Care Symposium, last month in Nashville, was the premier value-based care conference and networking event in the nation. Healthcare professionals and thought leaders from across the country convened in Nashville to learn new methodologies, hear success stories, take away best practice tips, and network directly with their colleagues.

Tabitha Wittstock, Population Health Coordinator and Stephanie Ketchum, LPN, Population Health Nurse and Chronic Care Management Coordinator at Scotland County Hospital & Clinics presented in Nashville in April at the CVS Accountable Care Educational Summits. Their presentation prompted the invitation for Dr. Weber to serve on the panel for the 2024 CVS Accountable Care Symposium in Nashville last month.
