An Ottumwa man faces charges after attempting to cash a stolen check.
26-year-old Dylan Blaine was charged with Forgery and 2nd degree Theft, both are Class D Felonies.
According to court records, Blaine had possession of a check under the victims name. Police say he had knowledge of the dollar amount written on it. Blaine allegedly told the bank it was his and had intentions of cashing it without the victims knowledge.
Blaine is located at the Wapello County Jail. His bond is set at $5,000, there is a preliminary hearing on June 19.
