A two-vehicle accident on Friday claimed the life of a Burlington man in Lee County.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, at 5:31 PM, a Chevy pickup driven by 90-year-old Allen Heisel was traveling northbound on Highway 61 when it was rear-ended by a Chevy SUV driven by 19-year-old Taegan Hamilton of Fort Madison.
The collision caused the pickup to roll over and Heisel was ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Hamilton suffered injuries and was transported to Southeast Iowa Medical Center.
Officials say the accident is still under investigation.
