Gusting winds in the area have prompted the National Weather Service to issue a Wind Advisory for Monday.
The Wind Advisory will be in effect from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM for Appanoose, Davis, Mahaska, Monroe, and Wapello Counties.
Winds are expected to be between 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 45 mph.
Residents are advised that winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Officials say the strong winds can make driving difficult, in particular for high-profile vehicles.
Rain is in the forecast for Monday with the high temperature to reach the low 70s. Tuesday will bring partly sunny skies and with the high in the mid-50s.
