Ethel was born on the 10th of September 1964, in Ottumwa, IA to Kenneth “Red” and Geneva Joy Pilcher Cox.

She grew up in Eldon, IA, and was a proud graduate of the Cardinal High School Class of 1983.  In 1985, Ethel married Jim Sedore and welcomed two sons, Michael and Robert, into the world. Her role as a mother was one she cherished, ensuring her family always felt loved and supported. Although her marriage ended, Ethel continued to be a source of strength and guidance for her sons, who remained at the heart of her universe.

Professionally, Ethel made her mark as a nurse’s aide, a vocation that reflected her desire to help and care for others. Her professionalism and empathy in her role were apparent to all who worked with her. Eventually, Ethel transitioned her skills into a successful career as a telecommunications specialist, where her contributions were equally valued.

An avid reader with a passion for crocheting, Ethel’s joy in her hobbies was only matched by her love for baseball, particularly the Chicago Cubs. The happiness and well-being of her children and grandchildren were her top priority, a legacy she nurtured with each passing day.  Ethel had a love for travel and met her longtime boyfriend, Robert Buckles while traveling in Utah.  Together they explored the west coast until her journey eventually brought her back to Iowa to be closer to her family.

Ethel leaves behind a loving family, including her boyfriend, Robert; sons, Michael Sedore of Selma, IA and Robert (Shaylee) Sedore of Eldon, IA; four grandchildren, Lilly, Derick, Corbin, and Colby; two siblings, Kenneth (Pauletta) Cox and Kimmie Keasling (Fred Parlier), as well as many extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth “Red” and Geneva Joy Pilcher Cox.
