Authorities identified human remains that were found in southeast Iowa earlier this month.
According to the Burlington Police Department, the State Medical Examiner identified the deceased as 54-year-old Troy Daugherty of Burlington. Daugherty was reported missing in July 2020.
Daugherty’s cause and manner of death are still under investigation.
Authorities say the results of the autopsy and toxicology are pending and may take weeks to finalize.
