A single-vehicle accident on Friday morning in Poweshiek County claimed the life of a New Sharon man.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, a 2003 Chevy Silverado driven by 30-year-old Jamal Gant of Oskaloosa was traveling northbound on Highway 146.
The accident report states at 6:42 AM, the driver lost control on the icy roadway and the truck rolled into a ditch. The Silverado came to a rest on its roof.
31-year-old Cody Roberts was pronounced dead at the scene.
Gant was transported to a local hospital and was treated for his injuries.
