Ottumwa IA – The Alumni Association of Ottumwa Leadership Academy is hosting the Longest Table on Sunday, May 5, 2024, from 4:30 – 5:30 p.m.
“We want to support the current O.L.A. class project by kicking off the Love Where You Live event with our 3rd Annual Longest Table event,” stated Jill Budde, O.L.A. class of 2015.
The Longest Table is a nationwide movement to bring together community members for good food and great conversation. “ALL community members are invited, including people of diverse backgrounds and underrepresented members of the Ottumwa Community,” said Budde.
Local food trucks will provide meals for all participants, who will dine along a 200-foot table set up down the 100 block of Main Street. O.L.A. alumni will help spur conversation at the table about community, giving a voice to all and an opportunity to listen & learn from one another. “This is a great opportunity for people to meet their neighbors across the community. Our hope is that each person meets someone they haven’t met before, learn more about people sitting at their tables, and start to make connections that bring the community together,” stated Budde.
