Linda Deeringer, 78, of Oskaloosa, died Sunday, February 18, 2024, at the MHP Hospice Serenity House. She was born February 10, 1946, in Oskaloosa, Iowa, the daughter of Alvin and Virginia Hiemstra Baxter. She attended Oskaloosa High School and graduated in the class of 1964. Following graduation, she entered the workforce, initially joining Oskaloosa Foods and later transitioning to Pella Rolscreen (now Pella Corp). After 25+ years of service, she retired from Pella Corp. In retirement, she took on a new role as an in-home caregiver for the elderly. She found immense joy in providing care for individuals who were unable to leave their homes. Not only was she an exceptional caregiver, but she also generously extended her help by babysitting for her friends and family.
She attended Assembly of God Church in Oskaloosa and was currently attending Rose Hill Community Church. She enjoyed visiting and spending time with her friends as well as a passion for collecting Angels.

Those left to cherish her memory is her son, Daniel Deeringer of Long Beach, California, her dog Petey, five nephews: David, Rocky, Roger, Scott, Randy: many great nieces and nephews: two sisters-in-law, Delores Baxter of Battle Creek, Michigan, and Pauline Baxter, of Oskaloosa.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her two brothers: Donald and Larry Baxter.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, February 21, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. at the Bates Funeral Chapel with Pastor Mike Sinnett officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until service time where the family will be present to greet friends and relatives. The burial will be at Forest Cemetery. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. If you are considering sending a floral tribute, Linda loved bright & colorful flowers.
