Gregory John Fleming, 61, of Ottumwa, died at 12:55 p.m. November 5, 2023 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids.

He was born April 14, 1962 in Ottumwa to William and G. Carrol Cooper Fleming. He married Christina Dunning in 1981 and they later divorced. He married Rose Davis April 2, 1999 and she preceded him in death May 1, 2023.

A 1981 graduate of Ottumwa High School, Greg owned apartment houses and worked at Rescare County Home for many years. He co-owned and operated B & F Enterprise as well as the Family Food Court. Most recently, he worked for 10-15 Transit.

Greg was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #114, B.P.O. Elks Lodge #347, KAABA Shrine for 23 years, Ottumwa Lodge #16 A.F. & A.M. and had served as president of Ottumwa Shrine Club.

Greg loved bowling, helping with youth bowling, golfing, softball, and baseball.

Surviving are his children, Nikia (Gregory) Onstot of Des Moines, Jennifer (Brian) Glick of Hedrick, Mindy Sue (Thaddeus) Clark of Ottumwa and Travis (Kylie) Dunning of Albia; 6 grandchildren, Tyler Glick, Dylan Glick, Ollie Onstot, Keyden Watts, Asher Watts and Rozzalinn Dunning; his siblings, William (Rebecca) Fleming of Chariton, Roland (Rose) Fleming of Ottumwa and Desiree Edwards of Madrid, IA; many nieces and nephews; and his best friend, Scott Bradley.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, William Gerhardt Jr. and Robert Bonella; and brother-in-law, Mike Edwards.

Visitation will be open at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 8th at Reece Funeral Home.

Masonic services will be held at 5 p.m. Wednesday, November 8th at Reece Funeral Home with the family present to greet friends until 7 p.m. Wednesday. Cremation will follow the visitation.

Memorials may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children.
