Saturday, November 11 is the state and federal holiday of Veterans Day. Due to falling on a Saturday, most departments will be observing Veterans Day on Friday, November 10th.
Wapello County Landfill and the Recycling Center will be open on November 10th but closed on November 11th. All other offices, including City Hall, will be closed on November 10th.
Normal routes for trash and recycling collection will be run. Yard waste and bulky items will remain on the normal schedule, Tuesday for the south side and Thursday for the north side. County trash and recycling will remain on its normal Thursday schedule.
For bulky item or appliance collection the week of the holiday, please call Bridge City Sanitation at 641-682-1700 by 3 PM on Monday. City offices and facilities closed Friday, November 10th for the holiday include:

Ottumwa Water and Hydro offices
The Ottumwa, Calvary and Jewish Cemetery office
The Ottumwa Police Department Records Desk
The Ottumwa Public Library
The City of Ottumwa’s Building and Code Enforcement Department will be open holiday hours the week of Veterans Day; 8 AM to 4:30 PM daily – closed Friday.
