Beverly J. Parrish, 84, of Ottumwa, died at 5:55 a.m. October 31, 2023 at Vista Woods Care Center.

She was born April 15, 1939 in Milton, IA to Clayton Bonar and Janey Pauline Johnson Bell. Beverly married Laverne Tucker Mincks on February 9, 1958 and he preceded her in death on November 19, 2003. She married Dennis Parrish on April 13, 2009.

A 1956 graduate of Milton High School, Beverly had been a resident of Ottumwa most of her life. After high school graduation, Beverly worked for Shaeffer Pen Co. in Ft. Madison. She then worked at Ranks which became Pamida in Ottumwa and then worked at J.C. Penney’s for 20 years, retiring in 1993.

Beverly enjoyed visiting casinos, shopping, reading and especially loved spending time with family.

Surviving is her husband, Dennis; children, Pamela (Kirk) Datwyler of Albia, Lon (Marysa) Mincks of Oklahoma City, OK, Chris (Julie) Parrish of Williamsburg, IA and Tim (Ramona) Parrish of Ottumwa; 10 grandchildren, Ryan (Shari) Craig, Cory (Jessica) Craig, Leah Renee (Nick) Baker, Leah Marie (Spenser) Burden, Ethan (Adele) Datwyler, Lauren Parrish, Molly Parrish, Brian Katzartones, Samantha (Kevin) Gerken and Amanda (Drew) Hellige; 11 great-grandchildren, Knox, Esme, Lennox, Jett, Landry, Cooper, Waylon, Tessa, Maren, Levi and Gunner; her brother, Steven (Betty) Bell of Ottumwa; and beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, November 2nd, at Reece Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday, November 3rd, at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Mel Kendall officiating. The family will be present to greet friends one hour prior to the service Friday.

Burial will be in Mt. Gilead Cemetery near Floris.
