The Ottumwa Police Department and the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation are investigating the Monday night stabbing death of an Ottumwa man.
At approximately 10:46 PM on Monday, officers were dispatched to 301 South Ward Street.
Officials found an injured man, later identified as 34-year-old Samuel Gallegos-Ramirez, outside of the home. Gallegos-Ramirez was transported to the hospital and was later pronounced dead.
The deceased will taken to the State Medical Examiner’s Office where an autopsy will be performed to determine the cause and manner of death.
The incident remains under investigation. Authorities say there is no ongoing threat to the public.
