Linda Kay White, 75, of Ottumwa, died at 9:26 a.m. October 11, 2023 at MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center.
She was born May 4, 1948 in Ottumwa to George and Donna Hinkel Brumbaugh. Linda married Herbert White on October 17, 1981 and he preceded her in death on January 28, 2010.
Linda was a 1967 graduate of Ottumwa High School and a graduate of Ottumwa Heights College. She had worked as a waitress at the Red Lyon Inn and was an x-ray technician at Ottumwa Regional Health Center.
She was a member of North Court Baptist Church, a member of the Wapello County Republican Party, serving as secretary and was a Central Committee member, and a member of Wapello County Genealogical Society.
Surviving are her children, Dawn (Jim) Garrett of Ottumwa, Derek (Samantha) White of Pasco, WA, and Bandit Brumbaugh; 5 grandchildren, Mindy (David) Tanke, Lynsey Garrett, Rich Garrett, Travis Garrett and Harlan White; 6 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Everett Brumbaugh of St. Joseph, MO.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Arletta Smith.
Visitation will be open at 9 a.m. Monday, October 16th at Reece Funeral Home with the family present to greet friends from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday. Cremation will follow the visitation.
Private inurnment will be in Shaul Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ottumwa Youth Bowling League.
