Jerry Max Breon, 79, of Ottumwa, died peacefully at 10:03 a.m. September 22, 2023 at home.
He was born February 28, 1944 in Ottumwa to Max Caswell and Lois Irene McFarland Breon. Jerry married Mildred Masters and they divorced after 18 years of marriage. He married Elizabeth Sears-Houk on July 6, 1999.
Jerry started working at Lowenberg Bakery at age 16 and worked there until it closed in 1984. He then worked as a semi-driver for UPS from 1984 until retiring in 1999.
Jerry’s family was his #1 priority, he loved his family and grandkids. He was a natural caretaker.
Surviving is his wife, Elizabeth; children, David (Jennifer) Breon of Iowa City, Vicky Emanuel (Terry LaPoint) of Tucson, AZ, Andrea Watt (Chris Mueller) of South Elgin, IL and Aaron (Janice) Houk of Tipton, MO; ex-daughter-in-law, Tiffany Houk; 12 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Jack (Melanie) Breon, Bonnie King, Kay (Greg) Davis and Dixie (Paul) Cox.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Patricia Williams; a grandson, Andrew Schroeder; brothers-in-law, Max King and Don Williams.
Per his wishes, his body has been cremated. Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, September 28th at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Greg Lockett officiating. Inurnment will be in Shaul Cemetery.
