Natalie Shauniece Bell, 29, of Ottumwa, formerly of Mt. Pleasant, died July 31, 2023, at her home.
Natalie Bell was born September 19, 1993, in Ottumwa, Iowa, to Tycena W. Young and Dan A. Bell Jr. She attended Mt. Pleasant Community Schools before earning a high school equivalency diploma in 2012 at Southeastern Community College. A talented athlete, she was a passionate softball player, wearing the number #12 when it was available. She also played basketball and volleyball and ran track. Natalie’s many talents included drawing, writing poems, and creating other forms of art. She enjoyed listening to music and singing. She loved all animals and once dreamed of being a veterinarian. Most of all, Natalie loved her family, especially her children, and would do anything for them.
Survivors include her children, Crailean Coleman, Daizraleigh Bell, and Dustmarllas B-Young; her parents, Tycena Young Correa of Des Moines, Dan Bell of Mt. Pleasant, and Martha Bell of New London; her sisters, Nakia (Josh) Arnett and Cheyanne Young (Tyler Hoskins), both of Ottumwa, Carisia Rendon, Brisa Rendon, and Anyiah Rendon, all of Des Moines; her brothers, Dallas Bell of New London and Manuel Rendon (Spencer Barnes) of Des Moines; her grandparents, Melevinna Bell of Ottumwa, Betty Windham Bell of Emelle, Alabama, and Martin Jacobs of New London; her aunts, Katherine (James) Dial Adams, Carolyn Bell, Sheila Bell, Kathy Jacobs, Myra (Greg) Thomas, Melissa (Bob) Jacobs Bence, and Maureen Jacobs; her uncles, Elverett “Al” Dial, Stephen Dial, Jimmy Clark, Sam Clark, Dan Antwaun (Raven) Bell, Ronnie Windham, and Maurice (Marlyn) Jacobs; her great-aunt Debbie Young of Ottumwa; her great-uncles, James Henry Little; Tom (Kay) Walter, Lyman (Linda) Walter, and Robert Jacobs; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her grandmothers Donna Young and Dorothy Jacobs; her grandfather, Dan A. Bell Sr.; uncles, Kenneth Lee Thornton and Martin Dale Jacobs; great-grandparents, Georgia and Kenny Young, Pearl Little, Anna Bertha Foy, Rufus Bell, and Willie D. Dial; great-aunts, Betty Bell, Hattie P. Dial, and Mary Louise Foy; great-uncles, Paul Dallas Bell, William Bell, Robert Foy, Jim Foy, Henry Lee Dial, Ben D. Dial, and many other family members.
Visitation with closed casket will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 10th at Reece Funeral Home with family receiving friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday.
Funeral services for Natalie will be 10 a.m. Friday, August 11th at First Pentecostal Assembly of God, 733 Church St., Ottumwa, with Pastor Shane Frazier officiating. Burial will follow the service at Shaul Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to a luncheon at the church following burial.
