Jeffery Lee Casey, 63, of Ottumwa, died at 2:25 p.m. May 27, 2023 at MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center.
He was born November 2, 1959 in Columbus, IN to Homer Lee and Kathleen Lanthorn Casey.
A resident of Ottumwa most of his life, Jeffery had worked as a lineman for Shade Tree Service Company.
He enjoyed riding Harleys, fishing, camping, playing pool, cards, learning about American history and loved spending time with his dog, Clyde.
Surviving is his son, Carl (Amanda) Casey of Ottumwa; two sisters, Sherry (Mark) Jacobs of Altoona, Lisa (Dwight) Bricker of Pekin, IN; two brothers, Dale (Barbara) Davenport of Carterville, MO, Jimmy Casey of Columbus, IN; two nephews, Mike and James Harwood, as well as many other nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Roger Lanthorn and Terry Prather; a sister, Dreama Heminger.
Visitation will begin 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 31st at Reece Funeral Home with the family present to greet friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Thursday, June 1st at Reece Funeral Home. Cremation will follow the service. Inurnment will be in Agency Cemetery at a later date.
