The Ottumwa Public Library was the recipient of grief kits put together by Brooklyn Hayes. The kits were sponsored through a Be the Light Walk grant to Hayes.
“These kits will be a resource for those in a vulnerable period of need and we are grateful to Brooklyn Hayes for thinking to share them at the library. We are happy to be able to house these for our patrons to utilize when needed.”

There are three kits aimed at children, teens, and adults. There are options for written resources for different sources of loss along with activity sheets and comfort items.
The kits will be stored at the circulation desks both in the children’s area and adult area and can be accessed by asking a staff member.
