An Ottumwa man who shot his wife with a crossbow pleaded guilty to a pair of felonies last month.

Court documents say George Dennison, 69, entered a guilty plea to the charges of intimidation with a dangerous weapon and going armed with intent. Both offenses are Class D felonies.

Dennison was originally charged with the above two offenses plus attempted murder and domestic abuse assault.

According to court records, on August 22, 2022, Dennison shot his wife Lillian Dennison with a crossbow while she was sleeping on a couch. The victim suffered minor injuries and was treated and released from the hospital.
